Abstract
This paper deals with the comparison of the design of two magnetic bearings, having permanent magnets and superconductors. The calculations were made two dimensionally with the finite element method - program package OPERA-2d from Vector Fields. In addition the paper shows up, whether it is possible to calculate the bearing in U-shape yoke design (figure 2) in an analytical way.
